All the haps in the world of Gaz
Every so often you get a horrible feeling in your head. Its some illness or desease that makes you want to do indescribable things to yourself. It reminds you of the promise of prosperity, and the shattered promises of your dreams. That feeling is called World of Warcraft. Truly nothing makes me more sad and excited than wow. I remember playing classic until around level 52. Then picking it up when a new expansion came out. But it always calls me back. Lately I got the itch while trying Old School Rune Scape, another great MMO. When my youtube recommend started pumping out wow videos like VezyRPG’s amazing Fishlocked Series. Then what sealed my doom, my friends were getting ready for The Burning Crusade Aniversy. So… It got me. But this time it was going to be different. My classic class of choice was normally Warrior. I liked the underdog leveling, and I loved being the tank of a group. It made me feel important and reliable. I also wanted the first pick on endgame loot lol. But to be honest, leveling a warrior is like pulling teeth. I wanted an easy mode. So I chose classic’s easy mode. Mage. The class that can kill 30 mobs before a warrior can kill 2. It's been so much better.
A Rough Start
Ok so first was my undead warlock. You see I didn't quite figure I wanted to be a mage yet. But when I dinged level 6 I knew that I didnt want to keep laying lock. So Gazler the warlock is now my character that sits in the Orgrimmar Auction House looking for sales. If you see him mucking about on the server, Nightslayer says hi! Next I made my mage. And that went great. At level 12 I realized something though… I chose the wrong hair color. In wow classic you can not change your characters appearance after creation, so I would be stuck with blonde hair forever. This urked me very much. Now I had 5 hours of game time on that character but I’d be damned if i couldnt have my awsome blue hair. This is the most unemployed decision I have made in my whole life.
Keeping things Fresh
Another thing I want to do differently is give myself some more arbitrary but fun goals. Ive just been playing the auction house as much as possible. I am having fun researching profitable strategies and getting gold. I have about 100 - 130 gold right now and that's about 5 days of work. I really need to understand markets more. Investing in items that are down in price is a really solid cash flow I am still getting the hang of. Right now most of my money is from disenchanting. Consistent but slow. Mostly because I didn’t understand my profit margins as much as I do now. The process I have now is using jewlcrafting to make a green lv 18 ring. This cost 4 bronze bars (avg around 5s per item). This gives me at a minimum 4 strange dust (avg 7s per item). The disenchant could even give me more strange dust or 25% chance to give me a lower cost material but that evens out when disenchating a lot.
